  • Hyak Park – 5000 NW Hwy. 20, Albany, OR 97321
    If you're in the mood for a quick waterfront nature walk at a convenient local park in Albany, be sure to make a visit to Hyak Park. It's a smaller park, with walking paths that take you along the waterfront of the Willamette River. There are also two picnic tables, perfect for stopping and taking in the scenery.

  • Bowman Park – 300 SE Geary St. NE, Albany, OR 97321
    Known as a popular fishing spot throughout most of the year, Bowman Park is another great place for a winter hike in Albany along the waterfront. The park also features a boat ramp, on-site parking, picnic tables, and restroom facilities. It's a very serene, peaceful place during the winter, with tons of nature around you and gorgeous views of the Willamette River.

  • Marys Peak – Marys Peak Rd., Philomath, OR 97370
    With a max elevation of 4,097 feet, Marys Peak in Philmomath provides amazing views of both the Pacific Ocean and the Cascades. There are many trails here, including Meadowedge Trail, East Ridge Trail, Summit Trail, North Ridge Trail, and Tie Trail. There's also cross-country skiing and snowshoeing during the winter.   • Chip Ross Park and Natural Area – NW Lester Ave., Corvallis, OR 97330
    Chip Ross Park and Natural Area
    is a great place to visit if you'd like to enjoy a winter hike with a view. The 1.5-mile trail here offers views of the Willamette Valley, Corvallis, and the Cascades. There's also a large off-leash area for dogs. If you're searching for a longer hike, the trail here also connects with the trails at nearby McDonald Forest.

  • Timberhill Natural Area – NW 29th St., Corvallis, OR 97339
    If you're looking for a less-developed park with beautiful views and rugged trails, Timberhill Natural Area is a great option. In the spring, this park is filled with wildlife and wildflowers. In the winter, it offers amazing views of the Willamette Valley. It's also located next to Chip Ross Park, so it's easy to visit both in one day.

  • Trail of 10 Falls – 20024 Silver Falls Hwy. SE, Sublimity, OR 97385
    There's plenty of outdoor fun to be had around Salem, as well, including the Trail of 10 Falls which offers a long winter hike through varied terrain, with 10 beautiful waterfalls to stop and take in along the way. This is an 8.6-mile loop trail, located within Silver Falls State Park, with 1,480 feet of elevation gain and a moderate rating. You'll find a total of 45 miles of trails within Silver Falls State Park, including hiking, biking, and equestrian trails.
